The Next Chapter

Today was truly a very SAD day for me as I watched my former life become boxed up, and shipped off for what appears to be a new life.  I couldn't help but become very emotional today as I watched the movers pack up and remove what had brought me so much joy.  My mind filled with so many memories that were GREAT and MEANINGFUL.  I looked over the terrace and reminisced where I had taught Kira how to ride her bike.  I remembered all the Tierstein festivals my family had that were soooo much fun.  I though about all the times my wife and I sat out on our padio and drank a beer or sipped on wine and just talked about how much we loved living here.

Now as I sit here, it resembles what I feel inside, and empty house with no joy.  What once was, is no longer.  I can only hope and pray that God will refill this empty tank of mine, and that he will soon replace my sadness with joy.

Today was a beautiful day as far as sun and temperature, but yet so sad and meaningless as I experience the last time I live here in this beautiful place.      

Germany was truly a great experience and I wouldn't trade the joy I had with my family here for nothing, but I have to reflect a bit and wonder if it was a mistake.  Only God knows the answer to that one.

I love my family, and wish it was still a family, but today begins what may very well be the next chapter in my life.  God, I hope you will walk along side even closer than you did the last 12 years.

I received your phone call yesterday. I'm sorry I didn't get to call you back. I will try to call you today.

Kira, I'm so proud of your grades. I knew you would make very good grades. I will send a surprise to you and Maci soon. Please send me pictures. I love you and miss you soo much. I 'll see you very soon, I promise! Love you Turkey ;)

Maci, I can't wait to hear how school is going. I'm so very proud of you. My little bunny is getting to be a big bunny. Be good and be nice to your sister and mommy. I will talk with you very soon. I miss and love you soo much. You and sissy will be staying with Daddy soon, and I can't wait.

Dear Kira & Maci,

     I really enjoyed talking with you yesterday.  

Kira, I'm so glad you're doing well in school.  I hope you're enjoying learning and having fun with your new friends.  I love you sooooo much and I miss you more than you know.  I can't wait until you come stay with Daddy this summer, it's going to be so much fun! ;)

Maci, I am also so proud of you for learning a new letter.  You have to tell me about the new letters each time you learn.  I'm glad you are having fun playing with your best friend Kira.  When you come stay with Daddy during the summer we will read many books, and you will finally learn how to ride a bike, OK?

I love you both tons!  I would give you a big kiss and hug if I were there.

1/2 Marathon??????????

Yeap, I'm going to run a half-marathon in Austria in May.  My first ever for this kind of thing.  I have found running to be a serious form of stress relief of late.  I feel the world coming off my shoulders after running.  I'm running 20 miles per week right now and have never felt better physically, well since I was 23 or so.  LOL!  

The half is well, a half marathon.  So 13 miles in the mountains of Austria, can't beat it.  I'm going with two co-workers, and it should be a great time.
